From the French Countryside

A recent trip to Nédonchel, a village in the countryside of Northern France with a population of 242 souls, made me realise just how desperately I needed a break from urban life. It made me remember how wondrous and beautiful nature is. Also, just how harsh it can be. On this lovely sunny afternoon however, everything was precious.

Here are some photos of the flora and fauna (and a human too!). I adore hortensias and was jumping around with happiness at seeing huge hortensia plants in full bloom all around the place.

A beautiful area, and love the 6th shot, such a beautiful dog. Nothing like a little countryside air to rejuvenate the soul. Great post Sofia.

My favourite is the 6th with the dog and the sunlight too 🙂 I’m glad you liked it.

Perfect timing of the cow sticking his tongue out for you. 🙂

The cow first made a gargling noise to warn me he was going to do something funny for me 🙂

i live in downtown minneapolis, and i feel the same yearning for the countryside sometimes – a sort of need to be somewhere without walls & concrete. it’s refreshing, right?
